There are a number of small projects in which CRUF is involved, but the major ones can be summarized as follows (see map for locations):

Tangalla

Projects Completed: 25 Canoes built and donated.
Trawler repaired, re-equipped and now at sea.
Cement Brick making machine donated and working.
20 twine spinning machines donated along with seed money and coir supplies.
Computer studies course for a young man who lost all school books and records just before his Advanced level examinations.
Construction of 48 houses, full infrastructure and Community Centre.
Construction Of Montessori Pre-School.
Ongoing Projects: Community Re-Greening project with Rainforest Rescue International (www.earthrestoration.org).
Community development work in collaboration with University of Rohuna, Sri Lanka.

Ambalangoda/Meetiyagoda

Projects Completed: 46 houses repaired and re inhabited by beneficiaries.
Construction of Montessori School.
Construction of Training Centre for tsunami-surviving women.
Fair Trade Garment Factory opened and currently employing 20 tsunami-affected woman to produce textile products for export.
Ongoing Projects: Reconstruction of a further 100 houses under way.

Kalpitiya

Ongoing Projects: Regeneration of school (Project managed by Jan from Holland). Built new teaching block, new teacher's accommodation, refreshed dilapidated buildings and replaced temporary classrooms.
